Meet Rachael Hofford

Rachael began dancing at the age of three.  She danced at local studios until the age of 15 when she began attending Virginia School of the Arts, a residential academic dance program located in Lynchburg, Virginia.  There, Rachael studied under Petrus Bosman, Martha Faesi, Lisa Thomas, Tyrone Brooks, Dominque Angel and Adam Sage.  Summer dance intensives were spent with Richmond Ballet and Alvin Ailey.  After graduating from high school, Rachael earned her BFA in Dance and Choreography from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in Richmond, VA.   While at VCU, she attended an intensive at Accademia dell’Arte with Scott Putman in Arezzo, Italy.  She also studied under Christian von Howard, Courtney Harris, and Dr. James Frazier at VCU.  Recently, Rachael participated in a summer program with Common Thread Contemporary Dance in St. Louis, MO where she choreographed a piece for the final summer program show.  Rachael has been a Gin Dance Company member since 2012.
