Bethany began dancing at the age of 4 in Flint, Michigan. She studied a variety of styles including Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Hip Hop. After moving to Northern Virginia in 2012, she furthered her training to include Contemporary, Lyrical, and Musical Theatre. She has attended dance intensives with Manassas Ballet Academy as well as master classes organized by various Broadway shows in New York City, Joffrey Ballet, Hubbard Street Chicago, Visceral Dance Center and Ardent Dance Company. In 2018, she began teaching dance classes for Prince William County Parks & Recreation, and she now proudly works as the head dance instructor under the coordinator—and previous GDC rehearsal director—Michelle Geoghegan.
Bethany is a certified member of the Cecchetti Council of America, and she has passed her Teacher’s exams through Grade IV. She continues to study the syllabus under her coach, Cynthia Kiehnau (former owner of Virginia Civic Ballet), and has been an active member of the CCA since 2019. She has danced professionally for Ash & Elm Dance Company, and she has performed in several festivals including PWC Arts Alive! (2021/23), Transformations Dance Festival (2022/23), Flight (2023) and City Dance Festival (2023). Bethany has been a member of Gin Dance Company since January 2024.
