Joni is originally from Rockville, MD, and recently graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a B.F.A. in Ballet Performance and a B.A. in International Studies. She grew up dancing at the American Dance Institute under Pamela Bjerknes, and later Maryland School of Dance under Kimberly Parmer. While in college, she performed with Oklahoma Festival Ballet and Contemporary Dance Oklahoma, and received the honor of choreographing for the University stage. She also had the great privilege of training abroad with the Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company in Israel and Centre de Dansa de Catalunya in Spain, and performed in the annual International Dance Encounter held in Cancún, Mexico. Over the years she has spent six summers studying at Burklyn Ballet Theatre and participated in workshops with David Dorfman Dance and Company E. She has been a member of Gin Dance Company since May 2020.
