Kate is a native of Lexington, Kentucky where she attended the Kentucky Performing Arts Governor’s School for the Arts and School for the Creative and Performing Arts (SCAPA). Kate holds a Bachelor of Arts in Dance and a minor in Interdisciplinary Arts (Arts Administration focus) from the University of Kentucky. During her time at UK, she shared multiple site-specific and mainstage choreographic works. As a research fellow with the Gaines Center for the Humanities, Kate presented research on The Intersections of Kinesthetic Empathy and Observation in Concert Dance Performance and researched the impacts of creative movement on Parkinson’s disease.
Performance highlights during her time in college include taking Susie Thiel’s Sing Sang Sung to the Detroit City Dance Festival and performing in Theresa Bautista’s Break for Bill T. Jones. When she is not dancing, Kate teaches dance and yoga in the NOVA area. Kate has been with Gin Dance Company since July 2024.
