Layklyn was born in Abbeville, LA, and lived in several places across the U.S. as a military child. She began dancing in 2012, training at various studios before settling at the Metropolitan School of the Arts in 2019. Layklyn has trained in contemporary, modern, jazz, tap, and ballet; including under the Royal Academy of Dance repertoire. Through lessons, masterclasses, and intensives, they’ve worked with Roger Jeffrey, Lesley Shearer, David Arce, Ben Cook, Kelsey Kaufman, Stephanie Dorrycott, Tiffanie Carson, Mia Brice, Jacqueline Doherty, MSA staff, and staff from the Joffrey Ballet School.
She has also trained as part of the Metropolitan Youth Ballet Company, competed in YAGP (Youth American Grand Prix), and are an aspiring modern and contemporary dance choreographer. Layklyn has been with Gin Dance Company since August, 2023.
