Gin Dance Company Presents ‘NEXT’

February 23!!! We will be presenting our full evening length production ‘NEXT’ at the 10th Anniversary of Atlas INTERSECTIONS Festival at the Atlas Performing Arts Center – Lang Theater!! Come find out what’s NEXT!! 😁💃🏻💃🏻

Gin Dance Company (GDC), a Metropolitan DC/Northern Virginia based performing arts modern dance company has been selected to present a full evening production at the 2019 Atlas INTERSECTIONS Festival. GDC will appear on the Lang Theater at the Atlas Performing Arts Center in the District of Columbia at 2:00 p.m. on February 23, 2019. This unique all-arts festival brings together many outstanding groups between February 21 and March 3, 2019. Festival genres include music, theatre, dance, film, opera and spoken word where they intersect to capture a kaleidoscope of perspectives on our ever-evolving community and world. “We are thrilled to be participating in this special event” says GDC Executive Director, Gary Cuff. GDC will present a full production entitled ‘NEXT’ featuring the world premiere of Artistic Director Shu-Chen Cuff’s newest work ‘Infinity’. Artistic Director, Shu-Chen Cuff commented “Infinity is a piece in which we express through movement that we are all spiritual beings having a physical experience and that our journey to learn, grow, and love continue well beyond our limited time on this earthly plane.” Also featured in the production is ‘We, The Moon, The Sun’ – an Asian culturally influenced work combining Eastern philosophy and Chinese Opera movements blended with modern dance in which Shu-Chen explores the idea that we are One… Our energy flows together constantly just as the earth, the moon, and the sun all depend on each other. GDC will also be performing critically acclaimed and audience favorite signature pieces ‘L.E.O.’ an elegant and delightful contemporary ballet and a story telling piece entitled ‘200 Feet’ – inspired by the teachings of the author of ‘Chicken Soup for the Soul’, Jack Canfield. “We’re very excited about this production. Each piece tells it’s own story… It’s our hope that this production will touch the audience in different ways and expand their imagination.” says Executive Director, Gary Cuff. www.gindance.org

All five of Atlas performance spaces will be alive with world premieres and innovative collaborations among artists of all ages, races, cultures, communities, and art forms. For ticket information, go to https://www.atlasarts.org/events/next/
