A friend of mine, Iping Su who is a beautiful dancer with Cloud Gate Dance Theater took this picture while she was touring in Moscow… It’s amazing how simple things can bring out such beauty… even with Evian water bottle. With the sun shines in on the rose and through this wooden frame window… and with the city in the background… It’s all somehow makes it a perfect picture. Love it!!

GDC’s Great Performance at the Kennedy Center
How was our day on March 27, 2013? Before the Kennedy Center even opened, Gin Dance Company was gathering at the door ready to take on the day. We started with company warm-up class at 10:00am… We then went into tech and dress rehearsal. In between the busy schedule, we managed to have a little birthday celebration for GDC dancer Lindsay Garrett with delicious Red Velvet cupcakes. Before the house even opened at 5:30pm, there was a huge crowd waiting to get in. Once opened, in a few short minutes, every seat was taken. People were still trying to get in… They filled every possible space including seating attendees on the steps and any where else the ushers to seat guests. In the end, not everyone could get in and hundreds of people had to stand to watch the show. Thankfully, the Kennedy Center simulcast the performance on a large screen so those standing could still see the performance. At 6:00pm sharp, show started. Following the performance, GDC hosted a very well attended post performance reception at Ancora, a fine restaurant right across the street from Kennedy Center. We were over capacity at the reception as well… We received so many wonderful kind words. We were so thrilled and touched… We’d like to send a big thank you to our beautiful dancers for doing such a stunning performance, our dedicate GDC Board of Directors, and mostly to our amazing Executive Director Gary Cuff. Of course, we never forget our awesome fans… Thank you all so much for being there and your endless support. We felt so loved. It means so much to us!! The performance video is now on Kennedy Center website!! Check it out!! http://www.kennedy-center.org/explorer/videos/?id=M5382
